There is a great number of weather apps available in the Google Play and many other sources. However,  AccuWeather clearly stands out.  This is probably the greatest, the simplest and yet the most powerful Android weather app.

Accu Weather Android App Available in Two Versions

AccuWeather is available in the free version (AccuWeather for Android and) in the paid version (AccuWeather Platinum).  

The basic difference between these two versions is that in the Platinum version there are no ads. Other features remain the same.

First Impression: Simplicity Rules

After launching the app for the first time, I was amazed at its simplicity and intuitiveness. I expected something big with tons of options, notifications and who knows what. I was positively disappointed. In the screenshots below, you can see the app's interface:

Main Features of Accu Weather Android App

Simple as it may look, the app is very powerful and offers many most useful features and options. The most popular ones include:

• Push notifications for severe weather conditions in the US
• Temperature notifications
• Severe weather alerts
• In the case of other locations, you will see an exclamation point (on the current screen) indicating AccuWeather forecasts (wind, rain, ice, snow, thunderstorms etc.)
• Lifestyle Forecasts which explain how specific weather conditions may affect your health or your outdoor activities
• Radar for North America
• News and videos (weather forecasts) for your current location 
• Social media sharing
• Easily customizable color themes

What Else Can Accu Weather Android App Do?

Apart from the above main and most popular features, it's also worth mentioning some other things this app can do.

• AccuWeather offers local forecast for as many as nearly 3 million different locations all over the world (updated hourly with forecasts  for the next 15 days).
• Current weather conditions together with data, such as, humidity, visibility, UV index, sunrise, sunset, wind (speed and gusts).
• Status bar displaying temperature for your home or current location.
• You can store an unlimited number of locations (and up to 10 Favorite locations).
• You can use metric or imperial units.
• The app's compatible with all Android versions (including Jelly Bean).
